In a joint American and French effort, Dick Pierson, former NASCAR crew mechanic, and Christophe Schwartz have restored a Dodge Charger stock car to race it at the coming Le Mans Classic vintage race. Hester Velmans received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in the United States to translate into English the last novel by one of her favorite Dutch authors, the late Herman Franke. Hester has published two other translations this year, including Between Two Homelands" edited by Hedda Kalshoven and The Hormone Factory by Saskia Goldschmidt, with another on its way in 2015: The Darkness that Divides Us by the ever popular Renate Dorrestein.

In the current environment where fears stoked by global instability, wars, and terrorism, are being exploited by populist politicians, this new web site aims to mitigate these fears by introducing people to other cultures through festive traditions, customs and food. While remembering Ecolint, where there was little xenophobia among our classmates as we were continuously exposed to many other cultures, Yue is optimistic about this project's ability to mitigate cultural clashes.
