Dear Ron:

I am sure that the Board is aware of the flurry of communication at La Chat
as parents and staff react to the proposal of the Board for the structure of
the Grand Saconnex campus. As a result, it is inevitable that sufficient
signatures will have been collected over the break to require an
Extraordinary meeting of the CGA, quite simply reflecting the desire of the
school community to be a part of what you aptly describe as this “unique
moment in the history” of the Foundation.

I would like to suggest that, in advance of the Extraordinary meeting of the
CGA, the Board sends a résumé of the main options they have considered to
staff and parents, along with the pros and cons of each. I am quite certain
that the Board has been through this process so why not share it in advance
with the school community at large? In this way we can meet together for an
informed debate of the possibilities and avoid the “emotional first
impressions or other secondary issues” you mentioned in your letter. I am
quite sure that your deliberations have taken into account not only the
educational elements of the various options but also the logistical
challenges for parents as well as the implications for the staff of both La
Chat and LGB.

As others have said, a further delay of a few weeks to ensure that a fair
and open process is followed in reaching a decision will be time well spent.

Yours sincerely,
Sandra Hails
