Extraordinary CGA
28 Nov
Venue Change
The Board has decided to move the venue of the Extraordinary CGA in order to get a larger capacity facility, which would also give the possibility for simultaneous interpretation.
The venue for the Extraordinary CGA at 1930 on Tuesday, 28 November will be Meeting Room XX at the UN. This room is located in Building E ('the new building') on the UN grounds. Attendees will enter via Door 40 and proceed up one flight of escalators to the room.
The room has a built-in microphone system on the main floor and all seats have headsets for simultaneous interpretation that will be available for up to 6 hours from the 1930 starting time.
Parking is not anticipated to be a problem. Attendees will be allowed to enter via the Pregny gate off the Avenue de la Paix and park in open spaces around the UN buildings.
Normally, entry by visitors to the UN grounds requires x-ray screening of bags and packages, walking through a metal detector and surrendering their passport in exchange for a visitors badge and parking permit. To avoid the need for these procedures, all attendees will need to present an invitation card for entry. These cards will be mailed to parents along with a map of the UN and further information on the fourth campus issue. One card will allow up to two family members to enter. Additional cards will be made available to alumni and others via the school offices at each campus.
These arrangements should contribute to the success of the meeting for everyone involved. The mailing with the announcement and invitation will be sent within the next few days.
The Board has moved the venue to facilitate participation by the community.
