Issue: Is the Land choice forcing the campus composition decision?
February 15 2000 the Board agreed to hire the present Director General, whose term ends at the end of December, as project manager to oversee the construction of the new campus until 2003, as he has arranged for the land grant. See minutes here.
October 25 the Board Executive Committee meeting decided to start the architects competition for a 10 - 13 Campus as architects need to know type of campus to begin competition. Is the land big enough for construction of a building suitable for primary plus? Only two story building legal for primary. Architects can build "good" campus for 1-13 but not "great" campus for 1-13 on the site. What size student body is good? Architects' specifications can be modified in the light of the "final decision" to be made in December (or as late as February 2001) with costs to parents.
The land donation is a done deed. Donation of 5 million also? Lisez Tribune.
Selection of the site was hinted at in the Expansion Meeting held 10th June 1999 when parents objected to temporary expansion; doubted board could be able to open school within three years as complete lack of study for land or building had been done at that time. See "It's déja vue all over again!" Where does the land come from? New Campus approved in February 2000. Expansion of Pregny. The land was likely picked before June 2000. The land is about 18,000m2, (1.8 Hectares). Chat's campus is 3.8-4.2 Hectares. Previously, 40,000m2 was sought.

If you want to share with all (with or without your name) send your documentation or opinion to mcguirk@iprolink.fr. I am posting information because I believe in the International School, and in the strategic plan, especially the part that calls for more transparency and accountablity on the part of the governing board. I invite the BOARD and CDG to make an Official web page on the Foundation's web site http://www.ecolint.ch as they have the facility to set up an open chat sharing full information!
